On January 7, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) Tianjin, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), delivered No.84 115,000dwt product oil tanker , the “Cape Olympus,” to Greek Cape Shipping Company. The vessel was named and delivered 83 days ahead of schedule.
Equipped with energy-saving devices including a bow thruster and rudder bulb, the ship achieves Phase III Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). It features an open-loop scrubbing system, SCR systems on both main engines and generators to meet NOx Tier III emissions standards, and overall performance at the leading edge.
As the first vessel in this sery, DSIC Tianjin project team tackled challenges through innovative research and accumulated experience through practical exploration, achieving key breakthroughs in design and craftsmanship.
? For critical aspects such as hull structural variations, SCR system layout in the engine room, and special requirements for the cargo oil system, risks were proactively identified, process routes optimized, and standardized construction procedures and operational guidelines developed.
? Developed replicable and scalable tooling solutions and processes for cargo hold scaffolding erection and outer plate closure techniques.
? Through comprehensive sea trials, the commissioning procedures, technical parameters, and acceptance standards for critical projects—including main engine running-in, cargo/ballast system integration, and automated system testing—were successfully validated. This provides a clear implementation path for subsequent vessel mooring and sea trial activities. |
